The Metropolitan Phoenix area is commonly known as the Valley of the Sun. Our Arizona State Flag prominently features sun rays.

The sun can't, and shouldn't, be ignored. We want you to enjoy our plentiful sunny days, so please exercise caution. The University of Arizona Cooperative Extension has a good list of ideas to help you.
